Keep the working perimeter clear and discuss gates, conservatories, roofs, overhead cables and neighbouring land before scaffold is ordered.

Windows, doors and fittings

Agree how lights, alarms, downpipes, satellite equipment and other fittings will be handled. Temporary removal often produces a neater, more weather-resistant detail.

Plants, paving and vehicles

Move fragile planters and vehicles away from the work zone. Good protection is essential, but reducing congestion makes that protection more effective.

Neighbours and working hours

Scaffolding, deliveries and temporary noise can affect adjoining homes. Early, clear communication prevents avoidable problems.

Weather and programme

Rendering is weather dependent. A responsible programme allows for temperature, wind, rain and curing rather than promising an inflexible completion date.
